  • Amazons Affiliate Program — Should you listen to the negativity?
    by Sam
    Posted May 18th, 2010 at 10:44 pm
I have never previously worked with the Amazon Associate Program, and admittedly the main reasons for this is the the low commission rate and bad reviews (even in the Amazon affiliate forum). Recently however i have tested the program because i could find no other well known high street brands selling the products i required and so far to be honest i have been pleasantly surprised at the results. My new website only generates a trickle of traffic and is far from optimized, it is what i might ...
  • Link Building Is Hard Work But Necessary!
    by Sam
    Posted February 26th, 2010 at 2:35 am
As far as i know nobody enjoys building links! There is a certain 9 to 5 feeling about it- the repetitiveness, the feeling that you should be doing something more constructive with your time, and the personal rejection you feel when someone doesn't reply. You are at work and don't you know it. Building links is tough and never more so than in the early days when you have no exchange capital ie. you have two websites that are PR F*ck all and it feels you cant give your links away. Fortunately ...
  • Stephen Fry Affiliate Marketer!

I recently read Clarke Duncan's post entitled Jason Manford could be an Affiliate! (Jason Manford is on 9 out of 10 cats and is a comedian for those not in the know).  In the post Clarke basically looks at Jason Manford's  online presence and quite rightly establishes that what he does is in a sense affiliate marketing as he (Jason) is selling a product, albeit his own.Clarke then points out (as only a time served affiliate could) that Jason was missing a trick - he was sending all his traffic...
  • Easy Content Units Review — First Review of 2010

I have actually wanted to review this product for a number of months but for whatever reason it has always been put on the back burner. I am not being paid for this review and the product has no current affiliate program so you can be 100% assured that the review is of a genuine nature. I have never been very good with code (whether html, php, or any of the others that i cant name but am sure exist), but have always wanted to learn how to use data feeds to create online affiliate stores. For th...
  • Researching Your Affiliate Niche
    by Sam
    Posted February 17th, 2010 at 12:10 am
Niche Research Before committing to any niche it is important to research your potential niches thoroughly. You will want to get an idea of how many people are searching for your products, how much competition you are likely to have, and what products you can potentially sell from which merchants and at what commission rate. Completing your research will give you a feel for the market but will not give you the exact profitability due to the large amount of factors that can effect your sales. ...
  • Choosing a Niche

    Posted November 24th, 2009 at 6:55 pm
What is a niche? a niche is "an easily identifiable market that can be targeted for direct promotion, i.e. golfers, model plane hobbyists, collectors, etc." Before any work can begin on building your first website you need to know what product or type of products you will promote. Because this course is specific to tangible products (products you can see), you have already narrowed your search, but we need to go further. To be successful at affiliate marketing it is important that you focus your...
  • WordPress: Frugal Theme
    by Sam
    Posted October 1st, 2009 at 11:16 am
A week or so ago i reviewed the much anticipated Headway Theme when i probably should have been writing something about the Frugal Theme since this blog is now controlled by its Framework, better late than never i suppose! Frugal originally appealed to me because of its clean and fresh feel, it is a Thesis theme (in looks) for non coders, as almost everything you want to do with this theme can be done from the Frugal administration & design panel. The comparison between Thesis & Frugal ...
  • PPC Classroom Review

I first joined PPC Classroom in 2008 when it first launched and have been returning to the members section & forum ever since. PPC Classroom has taught me virtually everything I know about PPC marketing . It is rare to find an affiliate training course that delivers exactly what is expected, however this course does just that. If you are looking for a get rich scheme this is not for you, this is a quality training course teaching techniques that can help turn your business around - knowledg...
  • Creating A Google Friendly Landing Page For PPC!
    by Sam
    Posted September 20th, 2009 at 7:57 pm
Long gone are the days of thrown together a single page web page to test a Google Adwords campaign and affiliate offer. Google dominates 'search' and nowhere more so than in the UK, so to be successful in affiliate marketing you need to keep the Google gods happy and create a website that ticks all the boxes. Ill admit that i have been a lazy affiliate, so it probably took me longer than most (denial) to realize that i was going to have to work hard for my money if i was really going to be a s...
